Big Muddy Brewing “Pumpkin Smasher”

Here it is, my 5th pumpkin beer review this season! This is the most aggressive I have been with my perpetual search for good pumpkin Ales in a couple years I think. Our had been fun and tasty. Keep an eye out for my annual “Top Ten Pumpkin Beer” post some time around Thanksgiving! On to the brew…
Big Muddy Brewing Co.’s “Pumpkin Smasher” pours a nearly opaque orange color, capped with a one finger thick white head. The spicy cinnamon, nutmeg and malt bouquet is released immediately upon removing the cap. The taste was pumpkin pie spice upfront followed by sweet caramel, malt and mild earthy pumpkin. The mouth-feel is medium and slick. The 6% abv is barely noticeable. This is a solid pumpkin ale! Here’s to Good Beers!
