Brooklyn “Black Chocolate Stout”

Continuing where my last post left off I find myself still in winter beer mode. This is most likely due to the fact that in the past few weeks it has been brutally cold, and multiple feet of snow has fallen on my beautiful state of NJ. Another stout that is sure to help one beat the cold this winter is an “Imperial Stout” or “Russian Imperial Stout”. Usually these are a bit higher in alcohol, and will take the chill off any one’s bones after an hour of shoveling snow! I picked up a four pack of one of my favorite winter release Imperial Stouts recently.
Brooklyn Brewery’sBlack Chocolate Stout” pours motor oil black, with a slow forming thin brown head. The aroma is intensely chocolaty with a touch of smoke and alcohol. The taste delivers rich dark bitter chocolate, caramel, toast, and roasted malt. The finish is bitter and dry with floral hops notes in the aftertaste. The 10% ABV is controlled incredibly well. The mouthfeel is full and heavy with medium carbonation. This is a sipping beer, a dessert beer and an excellent beer! I would highly recommend considering this delicious chocolate brew for your next Beer Float. Stay warm and Here’s to Good Beers!
