Epic Brewing Co. “Imperial IPA”

While searching one of my local brew stores for something new and tasty, I came across a 22oz bottle from a brewing company I had not seen in any of my local stores before. I always get excited when I find my local brew store has some fresh new suds I have not tried before! I feel like a kid who just got a new toy and can’t wait to rip it from the packaging to play with it! And now I want to share it with my friends, on to the brew!
Epic Brewing Co.’s (Salt Lake City, Utah) “Imperial IPA” is the new brew I picked up. I figured if I am going to try something from a brewery that is new to me, why not start with an Imp. IPA? This beer pours an orangy translucent amber color with an off-white one finger thick soapy  head. The aroma had the pleasant smells of caramel, vanilla, earthy citrus hops, pine, grapefruit and spice. This brew tastes just like is smells. The finish is wet and hoppy with some heat from the 9.9% ABV, but never does it seem like it has such a big ABV. The mouthfeel is full and creamy. I’d say I was pretty impressed by this brew and will definitely be trying more beers from this brewery! Go try a new beer today! Here’s to Good Beers!

I really enjoyed this beer too! I tried one Epic’s other beers – Brainless Belgian Style Golden Ale and it was good as well. I didn’t realize until afterwards that there were multiple releases for the same beer where they tweaked the recipe; I was sad because I did not pay attention to what release I had (the release number is stamped on the bottle). I haven’t tried any of their other beers but plan on doing so soon.

Yeah, I plan on getting a hold of as many brews from Epic as I can now! I did not know about different releases, Thanks for letting me know!
