River Horse “Summer Blonde Ale”

Well friends, it is full fledged spring and Summer is on the way! We are pulling out our grills, shaping up our lawns and just enjoying being outside. It is around this time that we look for our beers to be a little less hearty and more refreshing! Summer beers are great to relax outdoors with or cool off with after working outside. I recently visited my local brewery and picked up a six pack of their summer beer offering.
River Horse’s “Summer Blonde Ale” pours a hazy straw yellow, with a one finger thick white head that quickly reduces to a thin line. The aroma is crisp with lemon citrus, grains and sweet honey. The taste starts out with citrus hops and then balances out with malt, grain, bread, and spice. The mouthfeel is thin but not watery, with sharp carbonation. The finish is slightly dry, sweet and bitter with a touch of spice in the aftertaste. The 4.5% ABV makes this brew incredibly drinkable and session worthy! This is a very refreshing ale that would pair nicely with any event under the warm summer sun! It is light, refreshing, sweet, flavorful and sessionable! What summer seasonal does your local brewery offer? Here’s to Good Beers!
