Sly Fox “Royal Weiss”

Happy August everyone. Embrace this last summer month and make every warm sunny day count! As I have declared past posts, one of my absolute favorite summer beer styles is Hefewiezen! A few weeks ago I put out a question on Twitter “What is your fav Hefe?”. I got a lot of great suggestions, and over all most (including myself) seemed to agree on Weihenstephaner’s Hefeweizen. This makes perfect sense considering that is comes straight out of Germany! My Hefeweizen suggestion is not from Germany but it is a pretty outstanding specimen, on to the brew!
Sly Fox’sRoyal Weisse” German Hefeweizen comes in 12oz cans, and is perfectly portable for summer. It pours a hazy golden orange with a one finger thick white head that leaves as quick as it forms. The aroma is yeasty and spicy, with hints of clove, banana, bubble gum and fruit. The taste follows the aroma and has a solid malty backbone. The mouthfeel is full and creamy with moderate carbonation. The finish is dry and spicy and leave behind a lemon aftertaste. The 5.6% ABV is barely detectable. This is an excellent summer session brew that is easy to take on the go in cans! It is truly refreshing and easy to drink! Here’s to Good Beers!
