Uinta Brewing Co.’s Crooked Line Series “Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin”

Yes I know It is December and I am still talking about Pumpkin Ales! Well, technically it is still Fall and I plan on enjoying every drop of pumpkin ale I can while it is the appropriate season! I enjoy Winter beers just fine but I don’t want to have had my fill of them by mid January. So there will be two more pumpkin ale reviews from me (including this one) before Winter officially hits and then I will try my best to refrain from posting anymore orange gourde beer reviews. That being said, I think this pumpkin brew just may be one of my new favorites. On to the brew…
Uinta Brewing Co.’s Crooked Line series presents “Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin”. First I will say that I am a huge fan of the label art on this one! It pours a dark reddish brown color with a thick, tan creamy head. The aromatics are of strong pumpkin spices, vanilla, oak and bourbon. The taste brings strong flavors of pumpkin and toasted malt upfront. Then transitions to sweet with notes of cola, vanilla, bourbon, pumpkin meat and hops. You can definitely tell this has spent some time in a barrel. The mouthfeel is full and creamy with silky carbonation. It finishes sweet and smooth with some nice bitter earthy hops. The 10.31% can be very deceiving, so split this one with a friend! It really takes a lot to say I am really impressed with a pumpkin ale these days, but this is one I will be looking to have again next year! Here’s to Good Beers!
